The Residence Inn by Marriott Columbus Airport receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its convenient location near the airport, cleanliness, and helpful staff. However, recurring concerns include inconsistent room cleanliness, problematic front desk staff interactions, and issues with breakfast service hours and maintenance. Overall, recent positive experiences suggest potential improvements are possible.
Stayed for 5 nights for business. The overall room was nice with plenty of extra amenities (kitchen with fridge, microwave and stovetop/large living space and large bathroom), but it did not seem as though the room was cleaned throughly. I found multiple areas with crumbs, a few wrappers from a previous guest, dishes that were not fully cleaned and certain items in the bathroom were broken and simply placed on the floor. Some staff were standoffish and had little knowledge of what was available or not within the hotel. At one point I asked the front desk staff if they had a straw (which considering the hotel bar/restaurant was across from the front desk, should have been available) to which the employee laughed at me and said that they do not have straws there.
First off, Room 302 - is supposed to be the best room here . I don’t agree for this trip and here’s why - the bed room is not ventilated sufficiently, that bedding smelled of sweat and dirt . Pillows are trash and need thrown out . The front desk was not helpful and gave the impression they didn’t want to be there or listen I was moved to this property without contact to ask what my preferences were since I AM DISABLED but from the calls I placed none of these people cared less I was placed in this room which is so far from. The elevator. I’m not coming back here ever and will not suggest this place
Room is ok, standard rooms, nothing outrageous. The staff is so so. They do greet but my check in experiences have been somewhat poor. No offer of market item or points or even if an upgrade is available... normal wouldn't care but I'm an ambassador level member and spend over $30k a year in hotels. Location is good, airport is nourish loud but given the proximity they do a good job of sound deadening.
I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott near the Columbus Airport for two weeks, and it was truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. From day one, everything was spotless, well-maintained, and comfortable. The rooms were clean, the common areas were always tidy, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and professional. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, respectful, and genuinely helpful, which made a long stay feel easy and enjoyable. What really set this location apart was the personal touch. I was there during my birthday, and the team went above and beyond by surprising me with a birthday card and a gift. That gesture honestly meant a lot and is something I won’t forget. A special thank you to Kiya, Casey, and Alphonse for making my stay extra special and showing such genuine hospitality. It’s rare to find a team that cares this much about their guests. If you’re staying in Columbus, especially for an extended stay, I highly recommend this Residence Inn. I would absolutely stay here again without hesitation.
The staff was amazing. They booked us in and gave an excellent rundown of how the parking to fly worked and where to park. Very friendly and professional. The room was clean clean. The lobby was clean and beautiful. I'm definitely putting this place permanently in my travel plans. Such a convenient way to catch a flight without any hassle.
WARNING! Deadbolt your door when you get in your room. They don’t have a means of preventing someone else being issued a key to your room! Great location, and their shuttle service is nice, prompt, friendly. Whoever decided to put motion activated lights in the bathroom should be FIRED! When I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom I don’t want brightazz lights coming on. And what’s up with the no complementary bottle of water? There are no restaurants near the hotel. They do have a bar, with a small bar food menu, but their oven is broken. That means an uber to get dinner, have a few drinks.
Look, I know it’s stated breakfast is at 6:30 but they will wait, keeping the doors closed until it’s exactly 6:30 or after. Can’t be a second early. I’ve gotta be at my destination at 7am and it takes exactly 30 min to get there. So those couple minutes they stand on principle are the reason I spent 2 weeks at this hotel without breakfast and that annoys me to no end. I won’t be returning just for that reason. Even though everything else is good.
The room was great, staff was helpful and friendly, comfortable bed. Loved that it had a walk in shower. The shuttle to the airport was easy, and the driver was fantastic. Smiles and upbeat at 5AM isn’t always easy, but he had us all laughing. Would absolutely stay again.
In order to upgrade a readily available room. Id have to pay the value of the room i initialy reserved. Ontop of the value of the upgrade room. Inshort, id have to spend 200 dollars. To spend an extra 100 dollars. Great business model Note* there were other units of the one i initially reserved still open to rent. So it wouldnt of yeilded lost revenue for them.
This hotel looks brand new and is very clean and modern. The breakfast was top notch and then food was surprisingly good! There were fresh muffins, breakfast sandwiches and some “to go” fruits and pastries. The rooms were nice and came with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and sink. It was clean and had plenty of outlets, lighting and mirrors. The only “con” was the woman checking us in (Lillie). She was not friendly and she was we very grouchy.
