The Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus/Hilliard receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff and convenient location. However, recurring concerns regarding dated facilities, cleanliness issues, and operational problems persist throughout the guest feedback. Recent reviews highlight a decline in upkeep and service standards.
Hotel was okay however their was a very rude guest in the room next to me and I was forced to move in the middle of the night. The night desk person didn't even apologize of offer me anything for the issues.
This Hampton is showing its age. From worn furniture in the room to inattentive staff, I won't be staying at this location again. Not the worst Hampton stay by a long shot. I will mention my disappointment with breakfast; I could have had scrabbled eggs but they were contaminated with gluten. Sausage gravy is not a breakfast meat... The attendant never bothered to clean the area either, I checked 30 minutes later before I checked out. The location is great and not much road noise, which is a big plus.
What a difference a location and proper training make! I’m currently staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus-Hilliard and I’m honestly impressed. Every single employee I’ve interacted with here has been kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone is sweet, professional, and clearly takes pride in their work.
We stayed here for a soccer tournament. The rooms were dated, and the entire hotel really needs a refresh. The sleeper sofa was a no-go with visible stains, which was disappointing. Bed was okay, but the bathroom felt pretty worn out too. It served its purpose for the night, but definitely not up to the standard I expect from Hampton. They also allow dogs which was odd.
The room needed a little work. The cabinet door for the fridge was broken. It needed cleaning beside the fridge. The toilet had an incredibly loud flush. Ridiculously loud. The hallway had some lumps under the carpet. Could be a trip hazard. The beds were decent.
It may have just been the room that I was in but the cabinets were pretty beat up and the furniture was a little worn. I usually find that most of the hotel is the same as one room though. I was going to be heading out pretty early in the morning, So I wanted to get to bed early. Unfortunately I could hear all of the footsteps of the people staying in the room above me. Now I'm not going to say that it's the hotel's fault that the people in that room We're running around. I certainly don't expect a hotel to police the noise levels of simply moving about in your rooms. Also the last thing that I would want is for a family on vacation to have to give so much consideration to the noise created just by enjoying their stay that they would have to walk around on egg shells to prevent making noise. I would just say that I would expect a hotel to be built-in a way that allows people to reasonably enjoy their stay without having to work worry about the impact of that on others. This is not such a hotel. The hotel was easy to get into from the expressway and there are plenty of things nearby. It seems like a good location for just about anything you could be doing in the area. The staff was friendly so there were no issues there. The only other thing that I would mention is that I got up early in the morning to head out and I filled my coffee from the coffee in the lobby. The coffee that was out and available was cold at that point. I feel like if you're gonna have a coffee bar set up, and fully stocked, out there 24 hours, there should be some kind of attention to a rotation to ensure that the coffee is some level of hot at all times. Overall this is a decent hotel but it's not the kind of place to stay at if you're the kind of person who wants a hotel that is paying attention to the fine details.
Overall it was a pretty good quality hotel. The rooms could definitely use some updating as the floors were uneven and you could tell that the mini fridges have definitely leaked over the years. However the staff was very kind and the breakfast was really nice. I did really like that they had grab-and-go breakfast for anybody that was getting out the door early. It was a decent hotel and had a nice little swimming pool inside. I would definitely go back again it wasn't anything fantastic but it was a very nice hotel
Bed was comfortable, but wasn't very quiet there was a dog that was howling most the night in one of the rooms and you can hear every time someone around you flushes a toilet, turns on a shower or even walks around in there room.
I decided to stay instead of downtown to save $$$. Room were clean. Pillows were small compared to the bed. I had a king bed pillows were super small. When I got back that night kids were running up and down the hall being disruptive. Then eating breakfast wish there were scrambled eggs good thing Bob Evans is next store. Then there was a leak from sprinkler above a lady told the front guest guy he came to look but didn't do anything. Why not put a bucket so you don't need to clean carpet. I would stay again if in the area normally I just drive back from Cleveland had a show seeing downtown I choose to stay.
I’ve been staying here during the week for 8 straight weeks. I’ve been pleased with the rooms, showers, etc. The staff however has been exceptional!, especially Jeremy, Tiffany and Coco (those are the 3 that I see most). They’re all super polite and easy going. I look forward to staying here in the next several weeks. My ONLY complaint would be the gym. It only has a treadmill and Peloton. I’d call it a sweat room instead of a gym lol
