The Aloft Columbus University District consistently receives positive feedback for its friendly and attentive staff, clean rooms, and modern atmosphere. While some guests appreciate its convenient location and recreational spaces, others have reported issues with noise levels and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Our stay at Aloft Columbus was absolutely amazing! ?? Our whole family loved it. The beds and linens were INCREDIBLY comfortable, which is a huge deal to me because good sleep can make or break a trip. Everything felt clean, cozy, modern, and welcoming. It was also such a great place to stay for a festival weekend — family friendly, convenient, and just an overall great atmosphere. Plus, it was conveniently located right by a diner and a convenience store, which made everything even easier for our family while traveling. But what truly stood out was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was so kind, accommodating, and genuinely helpful… especially when we accidentally left things behind. Even the staff at the nearby businesses were incredibly friendly. We would absolutely stay here again!
Very pleasantly surprised. I was put up here by OSU so I wasn't expecting somewhere too nice. The room was not fancy, but very clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Lacey at the front desk, were helpful and friendly. Great security features too. The only bad thing is that the restaurant next door uses the parking lot making it difficult to find a space
Our reservation was canceled as we were driving the 4 hours to get here. Supposedly we did not have a phone number on file to verify our card but we got the cancelation text as we parked in the parking lot. Sus? Definitely. Hotel rooms that were booked a year prior at a fairly normal rate turned into 3 times the price. Love how the world works nowadays.
Had a great one night stay at Aloft University District recently. Room was clean and had a unique layout compared to regular hotels. The entire hotel has a refreshed look. Used the rec room twice, had everything you need. Bartender was awesome the night we were there. Not quite walkable to downtown but anything you need is a short drive away.
The room itself is clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. The bathroom mirror lighting is a standout and made getting ready easy. Close to downtown and short north. However, the noise level was a big downside, constant door slamming, people walking and talking in the halls, and noticeable train noise made it difficult to relax and sleep. A great space overall, but not ideal if you’re sensitive to sound.
The rooms are adorable and clean. The customer service was amazing and the location is close to everything I wanted. The reason for my 3 star review is because I genuinely think the walls are made of paper. Not exaggerating when I say I would be able to recount word for word the conversation my neighbors had - and they were not being loud by any means. I ended up needing to use ear plugs and the sound maker they have in the room. If you're a heavy sleeper and don't mind hearing everything your neighbors are doing or saying, you'll be fine.
We had a number of people in town, needed rooms at last minute, and found this property. The staff is great. Betsy at the front desk went out of her way to take care of us. Customer service is alive and well. The rooms are clean. The area is quiet. It has been a great experience. Thank you Aloft, Marriott, but most of all the team here at Columbus University District.
????? 5-Star Review Aloft Columbus University District honestly delivered an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, the customer service at the front desk was exceptional. Check-in was an absolute pleasure — the gentleman helping me was extremely attentive, professional, and made me feel welcomed right away. His level of service truly stood out and set the tone for the entire stay. The bartender also provided excellent service, very attentive and friendly, which added to the great atmosphere in the lobby area. The whole hotel was clean, modern, and well-kept. My room was spotless, comfortable, and felt very inviting. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, and the overall vibe of the hotel was positive and relaxed. Between the great atmosphere, clean environment, and top-tier customer service — especially from the front desk — this Aloft location is definitely one I’ll be returning to.
The front desk people were professional, friendly and courteous. Plenty of nice places to eat within walking distance. Very clean and well maintained property. Our room was clean, but the Wifi access was spotty at best. Our in room phone didn't work at all. While there's plenty of lighting in the room, it was extremely difficult to figure out all of the switches and what each one would turn off/on. Some switches worked combinations of lights that made no sense. If I wanted to use the bed side light I had to leave on the hallway and vanity lights.
I stayed at the hotel for 15 nights and was very happy with it. All of the staff was nice but Lacie Gano and her dogs were amazing they made my bad days not seem so bad. I looked forward to seeing them. I stayed on the first floor No problems with noise . Rooms are smaller but you have everything you need. I felt very safe here and welcomed. I stayed while my husband was in the hospital. I would recommend it and would stay again. We stayed again in another room and was happy. We have booked for another date in October
