Guests report a mixed experience with this hotel, where cleanliness and comfort are praised in some venues, but maintenance issues, inadequate housekeeping, and poor management are prevalent in others. Recent renovations are noted positively by many, though outdated environments are occasionally encountered.
This entire 2 week stay was the worst experience of my life. Please do not come here if you are looking for updated rooms, luxury feel, clean beds and sheets, etc. The staff was ignorant, racist, nasty, rude. The food was garbage. The beds and sheets had blood, stains, soiled, towels were yellow instead of white. The first night my family and I slept in a cold room. They did not accommodate us. No heat and the room was nasty. Nasty sheets, refrigerator full of food, just outright nasty. The manager is and was aggressive, rude, racist, arrogant, unpleasant, disrespectful, and full of himself. The housekeeping staff was lazy, nasty and rude. They did not clean anything. Everyone needs to be fired including manager. They do not know how to treat guests. They are disgusting. They are rude, ignorant and nasty. They never wanted to clean your room. I had to ask for clean sheets, towels etc everyday. I even vaccuum and swept the floor myself..My husband had booked the room for two weeks, but somehow mysteriously, the manager states that we need to get out the day before. He comes to the room aggressively and tells my husband and I to get out. He practically puts his hands on my husband. We had to call the police on him. He is an ignorant, rude and aggressive individual. My husband works here in Ohio and is usually here for 2 weeks. This is completely unacceptable. I have never seen so much racism in my life. If you are not prayed up, saved and living for Jesus, it would be a disaster dealing with is racism. We are literally being put out of this hotel for no reason. It is raining, and it is getting dark. My husband, son and I have to get on the road and drive 6 hours home. This is a terrible experience. This experience has brought me to tears. This experience has been terrible, horrible and unexpected. I am filing a lawsuit and filing a report for discrimination. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. IT IS NASTU AND RACIST
The rooms are more than livable for a week at a time. Housekeeping does a wonderful job of turning down your room within a stay of several days. The afternoon manager is very helpful, friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be staying here again when I am in the Columbus area.
My family and I recently stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus/Polaris, where we had three separate rooms booked. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. During breakfast hours, my husband and son returned to one of our rooms and witnessed a housekeeper entering the room at that time. She immediately exited when she realized they were still inside. After returning from breakfast myself, I discovered that $385 in cash was missing from my purse. I know the exact amount because I counted the cash right before going downstairs to breakfast when I removed some for a tip. When discussing it with other family members, we learned that staff had also been seen entering two of our other rooms during breakfast hours. This directly contradicts what we were later told. At the time of the incident, the hotel manager was not available, so we contacted customer service while we were still on the property. Customer service initially treated the matter seriously and indicated it would be handled. However, after returning home (over four hours away), we were directed back to the hotel manager. When speaking with him, he stated that “no one enters rooms until after check-out” and dismissed the concern entirely, despite multiple witnesses. We were also told we would need to return in person to complete a police report, which is not feasible given the distance. The most concerning part of this situation is not only the missing money, but the lack of accountability and the feeling of being disregarded. Guest safety and trust should be taken seriously, and our experience left us feeling unsupported and unheard. I hope this matter is properly reviewed so that other families do not experience something similar.
Always a great experience at Homewood suites. Staff very friendly and help if you have any issues. Great breakfast, and Wednesdays are very nice. They make a dinner and get to talk to other people staying there and enjoy a dinner with everyone!!! Pretty cool.
Honestly, we stay at A LOT of hotels and this is one of the nicest ones we've come across. If you're traveling with a preteen, having separate spaces is crucial and this gave us (and him) enough privacy. Very clean, very convenient and a fantastic price. May be our go-to when we need a suite from now on.
I’m a Hilton Diamond member and travel to Columbus often, always staying at Hilton properties. This was one of my most disappointing Hilton stays and I will not return. At check-in, the digital key system was down so I had to wait in line with other guests. Im sure that sounds petty but I was already running late to a customer dinner so this didn’t help. The elevator was painfully slow so I used the stairs instead, but when I tried using it with my luggage this morning to check out it never arrived - it was just making a lot of noises in the shaft like it was stuck (which wouldn't have surprised me) so I had to carry my luggage down the stairs. Housekeeping was unreliable. Despite multiple requests for housekeeping to come, and being told I was on the list for service, I went three days without service, leaving trash to pile up in the room, no coffee set ups, or fresh towels. When they finally came, they left the used coffee pods in the machine, didn’t replace the creamer, sweetener, or disposable cups, and didn’t replace the washcloths or hand towels they took with them. The shower/tub, while likely clean, looked grimy with no tub stop and rust around the drain and the shower curtain was ripped in multiple places near the grommets, adding to the neglected feel. Some reviews said the hotel had been renovated, and maybe parts of it have been, but my room hadn’t been and felt dated, including the TV system. I knew after that first day that it wasn’t going to be a great place to stay so I looked to see if I could find another Hilton property nearby but the cancellation policy was strict and unless I was willing to pay to cancel the rest of my nights I was stuck in a hotel that didn’t feel like it met Hilton standards and definitely wasn’t worth the price. But The only positives were plentiful parking, proximity to restaurants, and easy interstate access, which other Hilton properties in the area have too. Unfortunately, the service, maintenance issues, and overall condition made this a hotel that I will not be coming back to.
I've been coming to this hotel in Columbus for years now. They have literally upped their game immensely. Complete renovation of the carpets and rooms. Such comfortable beds. Immaculately clean everywhere. Pool was nice and warm. Breakfast food was AMAZING! Best hotel food I've ever had. Waitstaff was super friendly and gave us some cards to play a game and brought us towels through the texting app if we needed anything. Seriously the best hotel experience we have ever had. Thank you so much and we will be back again soon!
The hotel was lovely. We had a suite and the room was nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Only complaint is that I do not think they had enough staff. We had a room booked for six people, and the washroom only had half a roll of toilet paper with no extras. There was no staff available to bring us anything we needed. My son had to continuously go down to get toilet paper, towels & bedding. In addition to that two days in a row, we did not have any hot water when we showered. Other than these minor things, it was a great hotel. Staff was friendly and it was very clean. Breakfast was great every morning. Great location!
We ended up in a recently renovated room and couldn’t have been happier. The room was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The common areas looked clean and well kept. The location is excellent. Easy to get downtown, and right near Polaris restaurants and things to do. Breakfast selection was nice, especially for being free. Great value for money, especially when travelling with kids.
Okay hotel, 182.00$ overpriced for a sub-par The bathroom had mold on the ceiling, bedroom curtains and living room curtains had stains, and bed linens had stains. Kitchen appliances were clean. Kitchen lighting definitely had a short cause bad flickering, unable to use. The ceiling fan in the bedroom did not work, although the light did. The floor lamp in the living room had cobwebs. You can definitely hear your neighbors above and next door room. The location was close to shopping and restaurants. Continental breakfast was powered egg (dry and flavorless), sausage patties were cold and flavorless, diced potatoes, and they did offer oatmeal, waffle bar, apple juice and orange juice. Minimal selection of toast, mini muffin and package bagel. Definitely would not recommend it.
