The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbus Airport is a convenient option for travelers needing easy airport access. Recent reviews highlight friendly staff, a comfortable stay, and a reliable shuttle service, but concerns remain regarding cleanliness issues and occasional staffing challenges. The hotel’s value proposition is partially offset by ongoing construction and noisy surroundings.
There's a bit of construction getting into the hotel, but Google maps navigation got me there without any fuss. I checked in ahead of time on the Bonvoy app for this trip and used the electronic room key which was lovely. It allowed me to go straight to my room and drop off my bags before hitting the check-in counter where I was greeted by friendly and informative staff! I mentioned I paid online for the Pay to Park room and they gave me the run down, had me take a pic of shuttle information (24 hours!) after I return, wrote up my parking pass, and were overall wonderful! A few weeks ago I stayed and enjoyed it so much, I booked again. The parking option (up to 5 days with a room stay) was great and it's a quick walk to the gravel lot, adjacent to the hotel parking lot. Rooms were clean and beds/pillows comfortable, and I didn't hear any airport sounds during either of my stays. I didn't use the pool, fitness center, eat the included continental breakfast (which I've heard is great), or the bar, but did really appreciate the 4AM shuttle to the airport. Shuttles have been super quick going to or from the terminal both times I've used it. I believe it was Diana that worked the early mornings when I checked-out and she was lovely! I'll stay again and would recommend to friends.
The individuals at the front desk were amazing. Give them a raise! Rooms were quiet. I didn't hear a plane at all. 24hr airport shuttle was very needed as we had an early flight
Good hotel, nice staff, no difficulties with parking. Did hear airplane/airport noise starting at 1am but not unexpected since you are right next to the airport. clean room except there was a clump of dry hair in the shower still. did have a shuttle to the airport.
Upon our arrival, the poor front desk staff was working all alone with the number of guests needing to check in steadily growing. To add to her troubles, at least 2 guests, including us, had already paid for their stay and had receipts which were not shown within the system and therefore they were charged again resulting in double payment. The employee stated that she didn't have the authority to reverse the charges and referred us to the General Manager who, of course, won't be in until sometime in the morning. How and why don't booking sites link to Fairfield Inn 's system? Another opportunity Fairfield Inn has is to adequately mark their long-term lot so that guests can easily find the area. Perhaps a printed map of the area to assist patrons is in order? One more opportunity would be to provide guests with an informative paper about the shuttle service instead of providing absolutely zero information. On the positive side, the rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, and the location is fabulous. Well stay at one of the other hotels next time unless the General Manager contacts us to resolve these concerns. It's been over an hour since we checked in and the polite, professional, and calm front desk woman is still checking a steady stream of people in. Sent 2 emails and left a voice mail for the general manager about the double charge. She never responded. When I called the next day, the front desk clerk informed me that the general manager was working on it. I asked her to have the general manager let me know either by email or phone call that things were resolved. I never heard a peep. Thankfully, in Monday, April 13 the 2nd charge dropped off my credit card. Still, I will never understand the complete lack of customer service that would lead that manager to think she shouldn't contact me. A very disappointing experience all solely due to 1 unprofessional manager.
Fairfield by Marriot has always treated our family well. The staff is always welcoming and respectful. Conveniently located near the airport, plus local stores, restaurants, etc if needed. They provide shuttle service to the airport and the driver is always helpful and polite.
I wanted to take a moment to recognize Maria for her incredible hospitality. She doesn't just do her job—she truly cares about the guests and their special moments during their stay at this location. Maria goes above and beyond to ensure total customer satisfaction. Whether it was navigating a request or simply ensuring everything was perfect for my day, she handled everything with grace, efficiency, and a genuine smile. She is a huge asset to this company and represents the Fairfield brand at the highest level. It is rare to find someone so dedicated to helping others. Maria made a significant difference in my experience today, and I cannot thank her enough for her hard work and kindness!
We decided to give this place a shot. The girl working the desk last night was lovely! She took care of us and was very apologetic when we called regarding the 4th floor hallway. I am not sure if your property is smoke free. We smelled marijuana on our floor and while we do not personally have an issue with it, our children who were with us, unfortunately, couldn't sleep. They were up all night asking why it smells like a skunk and had a headache from it. Celeste was very quick and apologetic about getting us into another room immediately for the issue and took care of us. Had the new key ready when we came down with our stuff. Also she was spot on when she sold us on the breakfast. Very delicious! The room itself was great. There was some trash I found under the bed, smudging on the TV. But we aren't ones to complain over trivial issues. Location wise the construction is very annoying. 2 lanes. Tightly packed. Hard to get in. Hotel was a bit hard to find coming off the highway. I would maybe stay here again. Thank you for the awesome breakfast and thank you Celeste for your service!
Stayed at this hotel to cut down on travel time to CMH for an early flight. Front staff was fairly pleasant, until I brought up issues w/ the Wifi at this property. Room was on the small side, but fine for a single night stay and reasonably comfortable. Water pressure was great; just wait 5 minutes before you get hot water out of the shower. Shuttle service to the airport itself was top-notch, and you'll need it since you can't walk to the main airport from this location due to the construction and lack of sidewalks to use. Drawbacks are the fact that this is right by the airport so if you're a light sleeper plane sounds might keep you up, and the Wifi access here is trash (30 mins to get it to connect). Overall, stay here if you really need access to the airport for some reason.
Great spot right by the airport and easy to find on Google. Check in clerk was great, professional and friendly! Nice lobby area. Dining area fir the complimentary breakfast as well. Room was comfortable, not freezing cold the fall. No weird smells. Restroom was nice and good size too.
I gave this hotel 2 stars only because the night receptionist, Diana, was really accommodating. However, when I checked into my room, I had to switch rooms twice because my room was not clean. 1st room there was hair and a dirty rag in the tub. 2nd room, there was hair on the sheets of both beds. It was 1am in the morning so we decided on another room since my family was extremely tired after traveling. When I called down to talk to the manager in the morning, she could care less. She would not give me a late check out, nor did she offer anything else to accommodate my inconvenience... not to be one of those, but I'm a lifetime Gold Member so I expected at least some sympathy. She just said well too bad, what do you expect me to do. I had another night scheduled, but will be canceling and complaining to corporate.
