The Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus East receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its friendly staff and convenient location. However, recurring concerns include cleanliness issues, particularly with bathroom conditions and carpet, as well as noise levels and maintenance problems like broken elevators and malfunctioning AC units. Recent incidents involving property-wide break-ins further detract from the guest experience.

It is a pet friendly hotel. When we got there it was late and got in the room it was nice. Took off are shoes to get ready for bed and stepped in a wet spot. It smelt like pee. Called the front desk I think his name was Mike very nice. He came up to clean it and saw my granddaughter and said I wouldn't spray this with her walking around I was thankful for that. We couldn't get a new room it was all booked. He said will get u a new room for tomorrow. My daughter (29) went to talk to them and she was mean and was talking nasty to her. So I went down and she was trying to be nice but said we check are rooms and the floors are moped. I dont think they mop carpet. So we said do the wipe there hands or walk on the carpet with no shoes. She said no why would they. We booked it for 5 days if we didnt pay for tickets for a event on Friday we would of left but we did on Saturday moring early.

We stayed for 6 nights definitely need upgrading the bathroom floor tiles were coming a loose and very dirty. They have ants and bees everywhere(inside of room). Some of the front desk employees were nice. Breakfast is horrible nasty and cold bad food selection. I wouldn’t stay again.

Absolutely the worst Marriott location I have ever been to. Wish there was a 0 star option. We had our reservation booked and confirmed weeks prior to our arrival for 2 rooms at this hotel (sorry front desk guy, no we did not book this on April 21st like you tried to say). We arrive all the way from California for work, only to be told that half of our reservation was cancelled without any notification to us. The staff tells us that they overbooked the hotel for the weekend even though their website and Marriott showed availability. We now have one of our team members stuck without a room for the weekend, and the hotel has not offered any type of remedy to the situation. We were forced to book a room at 2 different hotels, totaling over $500 per night instead of our original booking. This location is completely okay with people being stranded thousands of miles from home without any notification or attempt to provide alternate solutions. Our team has visited Marriott locations in almost every state and this has been the most mind blowing experience of them all. Oh, and these guys don’t answer their phone at ALL. They told us to call the next day (today) to check for any cancellations. I have made 8 different calls now over the past few hours (they time out at 5 minutes) and apparently nobody works here. For a “hospitality” business, they are anything but. Get a room literally anywhere else unless you want to be stuck without a place to sleep, thousands of miles from home.

The beds have firm mattresses and the pillows are small and soft. The swimming pool was nice but a bit in the cool side.

I can’t leave ZERO STARS — Laura at the front desk is HORRIBLY RUDE!! She tried to charge me and then cancel my reservation because we were not checked in at 3pm on the dot. She then GAVE OUR ROOMS AWAY!!! She told me she had no valid contact info for me, even though you cannot make reservations with Hotels.com without providing your contact details! Her attitude was terrible, she spoke to my husband like he was dirt. He asked for the manager because she told him “hotel rooms are first come first serve”, he said well we have reservations, she said that no longer mattered because it was 10:15pm and check in was 3pm. So he asked for the manager again and she said she was the manager and he could deal with her. We decided to leave, she demanded that I tell her that I was cancelling my reservations (after telling us she was 100% booked) and she spouted “good luck finding rooms because everyone is booked up” - we went directly across the parking lot to Holiday Inn and got 2 rooms and checked right in.

The staff were friendly while checking in and out. The hotel itself was ok, the usual amenities for a budget hotel. The lobby and dining area seemed updated, but the rooms were just ok. Our bathroom gave me the ick. We could hear everything going on outside our room (facing the entrance of the building) as well as noise from other rooms, the hallway, etc. Location wise, you’re close enough to downtown Columbus, and walking distance to many chain eateries.

For a budget hotel, it was very nice. Room was pretty clean and spatious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Others have mentioned the shower door issues and the main door not being sealed off. Not very soundproofed and the bathroom fan seemed not to work. Our door had an issue with unlocking, but we figured out that if we turned the handle counterclockwise and THEN swiped and opened normally, it worked fine. Staff was extremely helpful, professional, and polite. Friendly. This location wins over DoubleTree by Hilton hands down. The road is extremely busy though. Seems like its the main corridor for locals and wanderers alike. Its difficult going any direction but right out of the parking lot at most hours of the day.

Aliyah couldn’t not be a better rep for Marriott properties. She was so helpful and even offered us an upgrade after a long day on the road! Rooms were comfortable and the location was within walking distance to many restaurants.

Staff was great and quick to help when we noticed that the internal door stop was broken. Overall, room was dated and a bit worn, but clean. Breakfast was nice, and included a few small extras beyond the standard buffets. Pool area was clean and well maintained.

Booked a room for 4 guests, but there were only enough washcloths and towels for two people, so we had to go get more. Then the bathroom was AWFUL. Shower needed maintenance because it was severely backed up and wouldn't drain. On top of that, the fan was broken so the entire room was blistering hot with steam so bad that you couldn't see where you were stepping. Two of us couldn't even shower because the tub was so full of water and it wouldn't go down, but apparently there were no available rooms to move us to. Asked to speak to management and no one ever responded. Breakfast was limited and cold but was sufficient thanks to the microwave. As a Gold Elite member who was previously a Titanium Elite member, I expected a lot more from Marriott considering the business I have given them over the years. This location did not hold up, and has me reconsidering my business relationship with Marriott.
