The Hilton Columbus/Polaris receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising its location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, several recent reviews highlight recurring issues with inconsistent room temperature control, noisy ventilation systems, and unexpected fees. While some experiences are consistently positive, particularly regarding service and facilities, there are significant operational concerns impacting overall guest satisfaction.
Took my family out for a weekend getaway to relax but our experience was anything but. Upon arrival our room was 78deg and the A/C was running full blast. I turned the temp down more from 72 to 68deg as we left for a night out. Upon returning to our room 5 hrs later the temp was still 78deg. Called the front desk who sent up matienence that replaced the air filter and reset the thermostat in our room, however this did not fix the problem. For the rest of the night the room would cool down, then switch to heat and return to 78deg resulting in having to turn the system off and back on every 2 hrs. I wish that this was the only problem but unfortunately it was not. The water in the shower had no temp control as it was either all cold or scorching hot resulting in not even being able to shower. This experience was a real shame for a Hilton hotel as I only stay at Hiltons for work and personal due to there normal high quality. I hope this situation gets remedied and made right as I may be looking for a different hotel chain for my business in the future.
A nice upscale hotel! Beware they were undergoing construction while I was there! Was a bit disappointed that the Gym cable machine was not fixed or being worked on, as the gym was otherwise had the potential to be an elite hotel gym! The rooms were nice and spacious however, there was always a ton of noise coming from the vents/walls; I’m not sure why or what the sounds were but they were quite loud and would startle me out of sleep! Barring these two issues the hotel was gorgeous, and the executive lounge was quite nice (despite not serving complimentary beer/wine).
Recently stayed for a soccer tournament close by. I had no choice as this is the place that the team chose. The “Special Rate” they gave our group turns out to be higher than if I’d just booked the room myself. And EVERYTHING is extra money. The warm water bottles they left on the dresser, $2.50, for a bottle of water that costs $5 per case at a store. The lounge, $extra, the breakfast, $extra. If you want to watch anything other than basic tv, $extra. I’m amazed we didn’t have to pay to ride the elevator. The only positive thing I can say is the staff are very friendly and helpful. But seriously, unless you just have money to throw away, stay somewhere else, there are multiple options in the area where you don’t have to pay extra for every single thing. The only reason I gave it two stars is the staff. They were all great. Otherwise, find a reasonable place to stay and enjoy your trip without taking out a second mortgage. It was almost $600 for two nights. Come on now.
My stay here was a part of a work trip. I didn’t have much interaction with the staff as I was pretty much coming and going the entire time so I took advantage of the digital key option. I wasn’t very pleased that considering while I was in town I spent a good amount of time at my desk and the work chair was severally damaged. Not to mention while the shower was great, my housekeeper didn’t keep the towels replenished as expected, specifically the shower floor towel so had to use my extras just so I didn’t have to worry about slipping and falling. I heard the hotel restaurant was great but didn’t have time to experience it myself. The hotel has promise and is a good selection but details matter.
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in with Hilton. Excellent service for breakfast and very good. Room was clean. Parking lot close to entrance. Easy check in. Store for drinks and snacks easily accessible. Room actually were cool and had great a/c. Only thing I didn’t like was we couldn’t log on to Netflix on the tv. But I would definitely recommend!
Great stay. 2 king beds were comfortable. The bathroom was tiny the door barely closed when you were in it. It had a mini fridge but lacks a microwave. Close to restaurants and shops. 20 min from OSU depending on traffic
Everything from the room cleanliness to the service rendered by the staff was excellent. The pulley system in their fitness room needs attention (one pulley attachment/cable is broken off) but I'm sure that's being addressed.
Had a really nice stay at the Hilton in Columbus at Polaris. Room was nice and clean and it's great you can get a room with 2 king beds. Great location as there are lots of restaurants, shopping, and other activities in the area. Will definitely stay here again
I had a wonderful experience checking in at the Hilton Hotels & Resorts thanks to Clark. From the moment we arrived, he was personable, kind, and genuinely nice, qualities you truly don’t see every day. My parents were visiting from out of town, and Clark showed exceptional hospitality that made all of us feel warmly welcomed. He took the time to engage with us, made the check-in process smooth and pleasant, and set the tone for a great stay. Clark is a true asset to the Hilton team, and his outstanding customer service made a lasting impression on our family.
Had a fantastic stay at Hilton Columbus/Polaris. From the moment you walk in, it feels upscale, clean, and welcoming. The lobby is modern and spacious, and the staff made everything smooth from check-in to check-out. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained — great bedding, quiet atmosphere, and everything you need for either a relaxing night or a productive stay. It’s in a perfect location too, especially with everything around Polaris within walking distance. Whether you're staying for business, a weekend getaway, or just a night out in Columbus, this hotel delivers on comfort and convenience. Definitely one of the top spots to stay in the area. Would absolutely book again.
