This Country Inn & Suites consistently receives extremely negative reviews, indicating severe issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and overall hospitality. Multiple guests reported dirty rooms, stained linens, malfunctioning amenities, and a lack of responsiveness from staff. Concerns about safety and elevator outages further detract from the property’s value.
My stay was underwhelming, largely due to poor hospitality at check-in. Upon arrival, I found dirty sheets in my room. While housekeeping did change them promptly and provided fresh towels, they indicated that the linens were clean but permanently stained. Management needs to invest in new linens and revamp the outdated lobby. Close to the interstate.
When arriving to the room we thought someone had already booked the room because the bed was unmade, food in the refrigerator and the toilet seat was half off. The staff gave us the sheets to change the bed and a spray bottle to clean the room ourselves. They stated housekeeping was off and they couldn't do it. The absolute worst hotel experience ever. I will never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel. I wish I could post the pictures we took that show the status of the room upon arrival.
This hotel doesn't even deserve a 1 star. This hotel was filthy. Smelled like weed the moment you walked in. Our first room was 45 and told the front desk we needed another room. But was met with arguing. Also was handed towels and other items when all this is supposed to be in your rooms already. Breakfast was an absolute joke. Hallways were filthy with debris and trash. Beds were made but looked like a 5 year old did it. Won't ever be back to this location. This location is a huge disgrace to the brand name.
Absolutely horrific experience. The quality of the rooms and the hotel do NOT match the reality. Dirty, filthy, run down. This place absolutely reeked of weed and other foul smells. But that doesn’t ever cover it. The first room they have us was unacceptable. Huge mystery stains on the carpet, which sometimes we can look past, but the couch had giant gashes and not to mention the smoke alarm right above the bed was hanging down by a wire !!! Also the rooms temp was set at 87 degrees???? And when we tried changing it it just went back up. We politely asked for another room and when we went in the everything seemed ok. But once we settled in that’s when it got even worse !!! BLOOD SPLATTERED on the curtains and wall !!! When I informed the lady up at the desk she didn’t even seem fazed. We just canceled and left. As 2 young women staying there we did not feel safe at all ! On top of that, we I was just simply asking about some charges, the man up at the front was extremely rude with me and very dismissive. I don’t mean to sound like a Karen and I can usually put up with things, but this was absolutely insane ! Save your money, DO NOT STAY HERE !!!
I have NEVER been so disappointed in a hotel experience. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us. We were finally given a room and the toilet was broken. We reported this and were told that it works, but water runs slow. The next morning, it literally wouldn’t flush. The towels and washcloths were stained and dirty. We requested new towels and washcloths, at which point they said they were out of clean ones and we would have to wait. Fast forward and they gave us a new room. The vents were painted shut, so the air and heat wouldn’t come through. We had to get up and pry them open. This time there were literally NO towels or washcloths in the room. We went down to ask and were again told that there were none available because the laundry service was running late. We requested housekeeping and were told it would be taken care of while we were gone for the day. We got back at 5pm and were told that housekeeping was unavailable and that there were STILL NO TOWELS OR WASHCLOTHS!!! they finally brought them at 9pm and she beat on the door as if she was trying to break it down. Every issue was one excuse after the other. We finally checked out early to move over to Hilton. I have never received such poor service and have never seen a hotel in such unacceptable conditions. My next stop is to report them to BBB.
Great location with transfers (they reserve Uber for you) to/ from CMH terminal! That's the positive aspect of this hotel. The rest of our 1-night stay prior to our LA trip wasn't as positive!! Our room's thermostat needed the front desk personnel to come adjust- it was early December and way too cold, but to adjust it- needed the cover taken off!! What!@,? Then 1 of our bed's (double) sheets had a stain that appeared like lime green jello. Our flight left 7am so we were just interested in getting some sleep before our 4:30am ride to the terminal but upon waking the next morning, we found 0 towels!! Not even a washcloth!! Oh, well- we weren't planning on taking showers anyway, but would have liked to dry our face & hands after washing them. Then we appeared at the front desk at the time previously arranged the previous night for transfer to CMH terminal, the desk person had difficulty obtaining an Uber ride for us!! So we ended up hitching a ride with a fellow traveler that had reserved his own ride the previous day for this early morning ride to the airport (but through the hotel); very nice of him to allow us to join him!! Overall, our stay taught me that I won't be staying here again!
I had such a great time at this hotel. The staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome right away. The room was really clean and comfortable, and the bed was perfect after a long day. I also loved the pool and the breakfast was fresh and tasty. Everything was perfect for the price. The location was super convenient too, close to restaurants and shops. Definitely worth the money.
Dear General Manager or Prabhjot, We are following up again regarding our stay at Country Inn & Suites – Columbus Airport (2900 Airport Dr., Columbus, OH) from Friday, November 7th through Sunday, November 9th, 2025. We originally sent the attached letter of complaint to this same email address on Saturday, November 8th, while we were still on the property. During checkout, we spoke with a staff member whose name was either Gary or Gill. That individual acknowledged receipt of our letter and confirmed that a refund for one full night would be processed on Monday, November 10th, due to the service issues and disruptions we experienced. We were also told that we would receive a follow-up call once the refund was completed. However, when we called on Monday, November 10th, as instructed, the manager named Gill stated that he had no knowledge of our situation. We re-sent the letter to ensure that the details and the promise of refund were properly documented. During that call, he repeatedly mentioned that the property was “in transition,” that there were “a lot of issues with the hotel,” and that our rate was discounted. While we understand that your property may be undergoing changes, transitions and discounted rates do not erase the responsibility to honor your word as an establishment. Guests should not bear the weight of your internal challenges. We were told clearly and directly that a refund for one night would be processed. To now have that commitment reduced to an offer of 20% (approximately $16) is completely unacceptable. We are not merely requesting goodwill compensation — we are standing on the agreement that was made. We came into town for the Kingdom Image Awards, where Just Mic “Da Poet” was performing and I, Iyonna Ware, served as Red Carpet Correspondent. Rest and professionalism were essential. Instead, we endured continuous disturbances, exhaustion, and lack of sleep due to the condition of the rooms and repeated key failures. This could have jeopardized both of our professional assignments, which were significant commitments we invested in financially and personally. We are beside ourselves that what was promised to us is now being backtracked. We have written and verbal proof of what was said, and we are now requesting that your management honor the original refund commitment for one full night — promptly and in full. If this matter is not resolved, we intend to pursue it to the full extent of the law, as the failure to honor your own word constitutes unjust and unethical business practice. Please review our full original complaint below for context and record: Original Complaint (Sent November 8, 2025, While On Property) Country Inn & Suites – Columbus Airport Subject: Urgent Room & Key Complaint – Request for Resolution Dear Manager, We need to report a very frustrating experience we’ve had since checking in. From the start, our key did not work. We walked up and down the stairs five times after being told the key was reprogrammed, but the issue continued. Each time we left the room, we had to go to the front desk to get the key replaced. Eventually, a gentleman from staff kindly let us in, but the problem persisted. We asked for a different room and were told there were none available. Because my partner is a performer and is performing this weekend at the Kingdom Image Awards, and that’s why we came into town, rest is extremely important before his event. However, the constant key issues and the temperature in the first room made that impossible. The heat was not working properly—despite being told it was set to 90 degrees, the room stayed cold. Our noses and fingertips were freezing, and our throats began to hurt.
My review of this hotel won't be as bad as some others have reviewed it. The check in process was fairly easy as my wife & I booked for two nights. When we got into the room, we immediately smelled weed in the bathroom. The bathroom other than this, was pretty clean. There was a carpet stain near the coffee pot in the room, but there wasn't an outlet near that to plug it in. OK so no big deal. The beds were comfortable and clean but the sheets & fitted sheet came off super easy, when we didn't toss and turn that hard to get them to come off. That was my only negative review of the beds. The furnace worked fine but it wasn't loud at all so I had a hard time sleeping the first night. I used a fan app to sleep better the second night so that helped. We didn't use the pool so I can't comment there. The breakfast was just okay. Saturday night it was pretty full & they only had waffles, eggs, potatoes & sasuage links, But this was split up in two days. Sausage and potatoes one day & eggs and pototaes the next. They also had yogurt & some cereal. I think for the price of the hotel, you could've given the guests more food choices. Overall not a bad place as others have stated, but it does need renovated.
This place was very dirty. We booked two separate rooms and both were not clean. There was hair in the showers, used tea bags on the desk, the white bedding had mysterious black spots, and left over trash shoved between the mattress and the wall. The carpet was obviously dirty, too. Our sink was not draining and they had to come fix it and left it all dirty after. On top of this, the rooms smelled like a pot farm. The ice bucket had what appeared to be a booger on it and I asked for a new one. Pretty sure he gave me the same one back after walking away. The showers were dirty too with brown stains all over. I wouldn’t stay here.
