The Best Western Suites consistently receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the location and breakfast, while others report significant cleanliness and maintenance issues. Concerns frequently revolve around sanitation, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service, though some recent stays have highlighted positive experiences with friendly staff.
I feel like I should get at least a partial refund if not a full refund. The bed cover, lamp and curtain looked like there was blood stains on them. The ceiling looked like it had a nut stain on it, the deadbolt to the door wouldn't lock, the conditioner in the shower was empty, the vent in the bathroom stayed on for a couple of minutes and would shut off on it's own, the toilet would wobble when you sat down on it and the coffee cups had no lids.
The hotel was great. The rooms were very nice and large. The bathrooms while they were very clean you could tell they had some wear. The tub had some rust on the valve and there were a few cracked tiles on the floor. Nothing much just signs of wear. I very much appreciate that our rooms were across the hall from each other so we were able to visit with my mother in law. We thought that the breakfast had a lot of variety and we were happy with it. I would have given a 5 star review except for the bed in our room was super soft and the wear in the bathroom. When we're in Columbus again I would be happy to stay here.
Pros: room was ready before check in time. Laundry room staff was friendly and helpful. The toppings for the waffles was yummy, and the breakfast staff was nice. Bed was decent. Cons: Check in was a pain in the butt. The do not accept cash, even if you leave a card on file. Then the card reader wasn't working right. The lady at the front desk was kind of rude and not helpful at all. We got a suite with a jacuzzi tub, it needed cleaned before we even could get in. Luckily I had cleaning supplies in my car, since I clean houses for a living. The room wasn't very clean at all. We found a card key behind the dresser, the blankets were stained, furniture was old, dinged up, pictures in the room were spotted and covered in something sticky, bathtub was rusted and the drain plug in the Jacuzzi had to be held open to drain the water, and front to tub was rusted. The room's heater / AC unit had broken buttons so you couldn't adjust your heat, and it had a terrible smell, woke up at 2am super stuffy and couldn't breathe well bc air quality was terrible. I was fine once we left. I asked the third shift front desk worker if there was water to fill my bottle anywhere and said "not really " then I asked for some extra pillows bc ours were flat and she said they all were and to go down the hall and knock on the laundry room door and ask the laundry doing laundry for a pillow. Then she went back to her cell phone call. Thankfully the laundry room worker was nice about it. But I've never had to go looking for a pillow before. Anyway , for the price they're charging for a room, I expected more. I was very disappointed, and we I highly doubt we will be back. Also there was a loud noise in the room that sounded like plumbing running non stop. .so maybe the room next door filling up their tub.
Our stay was not what we expected. We arrived around 7:30, checked in and brought our things to the room! When we got in the room there was a foul odor, so I turned on the fan on the ac thinking maybe it hadn't been rented in a while and needed to air out. The a/c smelled of cigarette smoke, but we were hungry so we left it running and we headed to our dinner date. We had been driving for little over an hour, directly after finishing our work week and were pretty hungry, and it was almost 8pm. At first glance everything looked decent prior to going to eat, dated and a little worn from wear, but decent. Its been a long year, we wanted to spend some time together and enjoy the Jacuzzi, so I didn't do a thorough inspection when we arrived back to the room. I put our leftovers into the fridge and realized that the smell from earlier was the fridge! It was terrible, think rotting garbage or something dead. The Jacuzzi was okay, the water was hot which was nice, but the jets didn't provide consistent pressure. We sat and soaked for about an hr and decided to get out and shower off and settle in for a movie. While gathering things for the shower I noticed the room was quite filthy ( I took pictures for reference.) I then felt it extremely necessary to shower off and went to get in. The pressure in the shower wasn't much more than a trinkle on any setting and the mat in the bottom of the tub offers no traction, but is actually slicker than the tub itself. I slipped getting out and fell, cracking my head on the wall on my way down before faceplanting the floor. When I got up, got my bearings and got dressed I came back out to put our towels over the edge of the Jacuzzi, there was a rose petal in the bottom of the tub. It must've been in the jets prior to us getting in because we only brought clothes, toiletries and snacks! Later while looking around at the rest of the room there was the same type of single rose petal under the edge of the bed, I'm assuming from another couple-gross. It was pretty late by that time (1:30-1:45) and as I stated we live over an hr away, so we decided to just call it a night and lay down to get some sleep. I knew from calling in to get this room booked it was the only jacuzzi tub room available within your chain and the bed seemed clean enough so we decided not to call the desk and instead report it at check out. We had worked all day, were tired and my head was pounding, so we went to sleep! When we woke up the next day, we gathered our things and decided no on breakfast. If the rooms are that filthy, I'm sure the breakfast equipment/kitchen is too! When we got to the front desk the staff person took our card and moved forward to the next person, who was upset as well, and there was a language barrier, so getting a word in was difficult! This room is no where near worth $240 a night. It needs A LOT of cleaning and updates before you can charge that much.
Comfortable stay overall. Clean room, cozy bed, and friendly staff. Great location and good amenities. A few small areas to improve, but still a very pleasant experience.
There is no bathroom at the pool. Closest bathroom is 200 feet away, you KNOW everybody is peeing in this pool. It was shut down for someone POOPING in it when we left. Other than the pool, it's a fine hotel
Had a great time in this Best Western. Rooms were modern, spacious, and clean. There was free coffee or hot chocolate available 24/7. The breakfast options were great and everything was well kept. No dirty or broken things here! To top it off, there is a pool with hot top. Overall this location is a great value.
I really enjoy this Best Western. The high ceilings and hard floor choice instead of carpet make it feel modern but also somewhat elegant and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and feel bigger because of the cathedral style above. This is my third time in the area on this side of town for work. I stayed here first, then at the place next door for the second time, and now I will always be back to this one. The best part about this place is that status members like me get a full goodie bag with snacks and not just the standard two bottles of water, together with a friendly staff whom I've never had a problem with. Also, the breakfast was fresh at two different times of morning between the different days I stayed there which was a plus. Overall, I recommend here. I would stay again.
Beds were comfy rooms were clean. The continental breakfast was very good. They had pastries and waffles and sausage. Service was excellent. I didn’t get to use the pool or anything cause I was just using it for during your surgery to be close.
I recently stayed at the Best Western Inn and Suites for 3 nights while attending the Ohio State Fair, and everything was fine. I’ve actually been staying at this location for the past three years, and it’s always been a good experience. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean, the air conditioner worked perfectly, and it stayed nice and cool the whole time. The daily breakfast buffet was decent too—nothing fancy, but a nice way to start the day. The indoor pool was nice and clean and my daughter enjoyed swimming. I also really like the location—it’s right off the freeway, and just up the street there’s a nice area with plenty of restaurants and shopping stores which was very convenient.
