The Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus/OSU offers spacious suites with full kitchens and convenient access to local shops and restaurants. While guests consistently praise the breakfast buffet and friendly service, recurring issues with room cleanliness, elevator maintenance, and reservation accuracy have been reported.
Had an excellent experience at Homewood Suites. Suite was spacious, well set up and a full kitchen (only minor problem was issues with adjusting the AC). Bed and sofa bed were comfortable. Coffee was present at all times and strong! The breakfast buffet was truly a highlight, with delicious omelets, meats, chia seed puddings, fruit preserves, toasts, and oatmeal. Good location near the Lane Avenue shops, with easy parking. Service was always pleasant, too. When I come next to Columbus, I plan to stay here!
The Homewood Suites hotel is nice. If you go to their breakfast buffet I really like the mini waffles. When you come you should definitely go in the pool; it was really nice. We went for the 4th of July and this hotel was conveniently located close to our friends and the parade! (Reviewed by my 8 year old son)
My family booked a room for July 4th weekend back in May. We are a family of five, so we specifically booked a two-bedroom suite so we would have enough space and be comfortable. When we arrived, we were given a one-bedroom suite with one bed for all five of us. When I went to the front desk to ask about the mistake, I was told the hotel had overbooked because of a golf tournament, and that some golfers had extended their stay because they played better than expected. Because of that, our reservation was changed without anyone contacting us ahead of time. The hotel did provide a rollaway bed, and the room has a pull-out couch, so thankfully no one is sleeping on the floor. They also said we would only be charged for the room we were given, not the room we originally booked. But honestly, that feels like the bare minimum. We booked far in advance for a holiday weekend and chose a specific room for a reason. If the hotel was going to change our reservation, we should have been contacted before arrival. Overall, this was disappointing and not the level of customer service I would expect. It put a real damper on our holiday weekend and made the stay much less comfortable than what we planned and paid for.
I stayed there when my wife had surgery at OSU. Managers were helpful accommodating my request for last minute changes. It is an easy drive to the hospital.
sigh. frequent traveler. LOYAL traveler. I always travel with minimum of at least 3 people. I choose/book AND PAY for the travel accommodations for my work/traveler companions on every trip. I knew when I was booking THIS Hilton FRANCHISE hotel that I was taking my chances as I've stayed at this particular Homewood Suites location a few times before and *each* time there was an issue with my rooms. Red flag: it's a FRANCHISE hotel. Incredibly disappointed because it's not a one off bad experience here. It's been multiple times. That's on me. I won't stay here again. I'll be sharing my experience with my fellow business community. We rely on each other to help route our travel and our budgets.
We were greeted at the check in desk by the most friendly people. Our room was so clean and spacious and our bed was so comfortable. There is shopping within walking distance and my husband enjoyed the in door pool. The Buffett breakfast was delicious and many options to choose from. All in all our stay was wonderful. We will definitely stay again and I highly recommend this motel to any one in the area needing a place to stay. I would give it 6 stars if that was an option.
This hotel has issues We did not have hot water and staff could not seem to anything about it Best we got was barely luke warm. Outside temps were not that cold I spoke to other guests and they reported same issue as well. As a regular Hilton member I am very dissatisfied The front desk manager was kind and that’s the only reason for the average service review We chose this hotel for what we thought would be a safer location but our stay at Homewood at the Columbus airport went much better :( Not my real name for privacy.
I stayed here on a recent business trip. Hotel is in a good location close to OSU. The main concern I had is that the elevator and first floor hallway smells like gas. I talked to the front desk about it and the lady said she notices that smell too, but that management does not want to address it. I find that really concerning. There should be NO gas smell in the hotel period. This needs to be corrected as soon as possible.
There were little/minor things in the room that weren't working - annoying but not crucial. The service and staff were terrific. The location is strange, and unless you know the hotel is there it can be difficult to find. Parking is limited close to the hotel. There is a detached parking garage that is a bit far from the hotel. Dining options nearby are limited.
August 2025 stay - I usually had stayed at a nearby extended stay hotel for 3-4 nights, but Homewood Suites was significantly cheaper this time. Homewood seems more recently remodeled and has a better breakfast and larger rooms than the other, but there is a small parking fee. Easily worth it for convenience to visit OSU and to have grocery and restaurants in walking distance. They are charging $5.5/night now for parking that was free for ~10 years, close in line with nearby Marriott charging about $10 for parking that was previously free for the same time.
