Recent guest reviews reveal significant issues with cleanliness, security, and customer service at the Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus - Easton Area. Recurring complaints include dirty rooms, broken fixtures, ongoing safety concerns like vehicle break-ins and a perceived lack of management responsiveness. While some guests appreciated the location and breakfast, the overall experience appears consistently negative.
Extremely disappointed—dirty room, broken fixtures, and unsafe environment. Overall very unhappy with my recent stay at this property. The cleanliness of the room was completely unacceptable. My feet got visibly dirty just from walking around the room. On top of that, the bathroom air vent had thick, caked-on dust, and the bathroom sink stopper kept getting stuck in the closed position, making it frustrating to use.The room maintenance was equally poor. The window blinds were completely broken. What makes this worse is that the front desk staff clearly had a record of this issue prior to my arrival, yet they failed to notify me upon check-in or proactively offer a different room. The hotel amenities and security were also major letdowns. The swimming pool was freezing cold and unusable. More alarmingly, the parking lot felt highly unsafe. There was shattered auto glass scattered all over the pavement, and several other vehicles parked in the lot had plastic taped over their windows from recent break-ins.To make matters worse, there is a serious maintenance issue outside as well—the front landscaping right along the main entrance walkway is full of poison ivy, which is a major health hazard for guests.
The ceiling in my bathroom leaked while I was staying here for a work trip May 2026. When I asked them to fix it, they told me they couldn’t because they would need to open up the ceiling. They couldn’t move me to a new room, because they were full. They said it should only be a problem when the people above me used the shower. Clearly this had been an issue previously as you can see from the photo. Apparently it’s fine to have water falling from the ceiling on a guest - as long as it’s only when the people upstairs shower. I asked to speak to a manager and they did not reach out to me. Disgusting experience and terrible customer service.
our hotel was nice, however more oversight on room cleans needed. One comforter smelled of urine in one spot and the blinds were broke. A redesigned bath faucet is needed, modern look is not practical when it is in the way of simply washing your face and hands, at least in room 414.
The rooms were good, the four-star rating is not a knock, they were just alright. Nothing great about the view, nothing great about the bed, this was the definition of an overall good experience with the people, the breakfast, and the accommodation. What bumped up the overall rating is the location for the price. If you like to get out and walk a little bit (or drive), you can walk to all kinds of services (food, shopping, etc.) in about 10 minutes. I would definitely stay here again.
Traveled with a sports team, and the pre-arrival coordination was AMAZING!!! Upon arriving, the afternoon and evening desk clerk appeared disturbed when asked by any guest for assistance. We are extremely grateful the the hard work the group agent did to accommodate the team and parents. The rooms were nice, fresh and ready when the team arrived. The hotel has a large gathering area just off the lobby which was a great place for the team to gather and chow down on the pizza from neighboring Pies and Pints.
Fantastic experience. Stayed here for a work trip. Holly and Tinnisha at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and helpful with questions about breakfast and the exercise room. The bed was comfortable, the sheets and shower clean, and access to Easton mall easy and immediate. Solid choice for an overnight stay.
We had a terrible experience this past Saturday night (February 28th) with this hotel. We booked a room through Expedia, which said they had rooms left mind you. Yes it was late but REGARDLESS, if it states there are rooms available, you can book them. Anyways, we arrive at the hotel at approximately 10:15-10:20 pm (which I have proof of through my Life360.) When we arrive, the man at the front desk looks up my name and then my fiances name, checked both ideas to verify who we were that booked a room. Messes around for a little bit and then chases a man down the hallway that apparently wasn’t supposed to be there? Then after that disaster, comes back to the front desk to look at his computer again to then tell us “oh uh yeah we don’t even have any rooms left, Expedia should’ve not let you pay and book a room sorry.” So we then say “uhhhhh wow ok so now what? Can you give us a refund ?!” He then states “no I can’t do that you will have to get a refund through Expedia.” So we leave frustrated and scrambling to find another hotel to stay at. Fast forward to the next day. I reach out to Expedia for refund. They say they have to contact the hotel to get the refund. Ok, so I wait. The hotel does not answer. So I then have to wait 72 hours for response. I speak with Expedia again and they try calling hotel again. Someone finally answers and tells them THAT WE WERE A NO SHOW!!!!!!! I am absolutely mind blown at this point. So Expedia says “the hotel is going to check into this and verify that you actually arrived and get back to me.” I receive an email today from Expedia today stating that after the hotel somehow “verified” this information, the man working the front desk that night claimed and marked us down as no shows and the hotel will NOT allow us a refund!!!!! I am beyond frustrated and angry by this entire situation. Not only was he entirely unprofessional and chasing a man down the hallway yelling “IM CALLING THE COPS ON YOU IF YOU DONT LEAVE!!!” In the middle of trying to help customers at the front desk trying to check In but then to immediately come back and say oh no sorry no room available and then mark us down as no shows?! I will NEVER step foot in this place again and I WILL take this as far as I have to in order to make this right.
Front desk ladies disappears and no one is at the front desks for minutes. Very rude and the rooms smelled. The carpet stinks and mold was around the tub handles. Hot water wasn't hot. The Lady at the front I couldn't get her name when we checked in needs to be re trained on her customer service skills. I'm done with Hilton!!! So much for being a member. I'm going back to Marriott
Front desk woman was extremely rude didn’t even acknowledge guests but quick to respond with an attitude my system is down. No jacuzzi. Got woke up byshift change @11pm bc a dog popped all down the hallway, being accused of having a dog at that, you didn’t see me come in with a dog. Guy offered me another room but at this point I’m so disgusted give me a refund and I’ll go home. Day two of calling repeatedly because there is no refund and now no record of a conversation that was had.
We came to Columbus for a high school bowling match and stayed one night at this hotel. The room was decently large and clean however, the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. When we woke up early Saturday morning to head to the match, 3 of our vehicles had had windows smashed out and ransacked. We do travel often and understand there are normally signs saying something about parking at your own risk or something similar to that. However, this location had a hired security guard on site all night. The vehicles were all parked right in front of the main entrance to the hotel. The GM has not responded to any emails or phone calls in 6 days. We had to drive back home with plastic over the window in the freezing cold. Mind you, I drive a 2026 GMC Acadia and the glass places do not even carry the glass to repair it so I have been without my vehicle fully functioning for 6 days. To top it off, the morning front desk agent that had come in at 6am told the 3 families with the damage that the guard was probably “sleeping”. And don’t count on Columbus PD to be helpful or timely to your situations as we waited 1.5 hours for them and was late to our senior sons bowling match.
