The Comfort Suites Columbus West - Hilliard receives mixed reviews, with pockets of positive feedback regarding cleanliness and location, but is frequently marred by issues with staff demeanor, operational problems (like pool closures and breakfast inconsistencies), and unpleasant room conditions. Recent reviews highlight significant concerns about rudeness, lack of responsiveness, and overall hotel upkeep.
If I could 0 stars I would. Ontop of the rude service by the employee at the front desk....I booked this room thru their website (not 3rd party) booked 2 beds brought both kids and came early.... to swim.... the pool is permanently closed... website does not list that. Now im stuck in this room for hours with 2 kids. I could of kept 1 kid home and spent way less at another hotel. And cant even gwt breakfast as they have a late breakfast compared to normal hotels and we have to leave 30 minutes before it opens. Cant get a refund. Cant even get choice hotels to switch me hotels to one with a pool. Wasted time, wanted money and front desk people who need to learn customer service faces. Lose your rbf
I made a reservation for my Grandson who was traveling to my home and called and confirmed that they were pet friendly, When my grandson got that there they stated that do not accept pets, I have read the other reviews and feel like this place does not follow the Comfort Suites policies, ended going to La Quinta
The hotel is really clean and everything was in place. The breakfast hot eggs, sausage, different toast, cereal and oatmeal, yogurt and good ?? ^_^. It also, got a internal pool. The employees attitudes was very nice and polite.
Nice clean location I did see some so so reviews was a little worried but night shift attendant was very professional and breakfast was good not a lot people here this weekend pool was down but it's winter so it's ok there a lot of things around here shopping and restaurants
I came to this hotel to spend New Year’s. I initially booked one night. On Thursday morning, I went downstairs to extend my stay. There was no one at the front desk, and I waited about 3–5 minutes before tapping the desk. A male employee then came out and responded with “what?” He appeared extremely slow, tired, and not fully attentive. I asked him to help me add more nights to my stay. He slowly sat down, mentioned his computer was slow, and eventually said he had added the extra nights. He never asked for my card or processed payment, which confused me, but I assumed everything was taken care of and left for the day. Later that same day, a manager and another employee knocked on my door very loudly and aggressively, demanding that we leave. She did not ask if we had extended or paid for additional nights. I tried to explain that I had come down earlier and that one of their employees helped me extend my stay, but she insisted that I had not. She was angry and aggressive. To avoid further conflict, I agreed to go downstairs and pay, which I did. Later that day, the key cards they gave me stopped working. I went downstairs to let an employee know, and she immediately blamed me, saying it was probably because I put the card near my phone or in my purse. I told her I had not. She continued to give me an attitude, reprogrammed the card, and gave it back. When I returned upstairs, the card still did not work. At that point, I asked my friend to go downstairs because I could not deal with the attitude anymore. My friend and employee then came upstairs and aggressively opened the door for us. Overall, the service at this hotel was very poor. Most of the employees were unfriendly, dismissive, and aggressive. However, I do want to acknowledge two employees who were kind and professional. Ashley, who checked me in on the first night, was incredibly sweet, friendly, and welcoming. She truly stood out. I also want to thank the gentleman who worked Sunday night (I didn’t catch his name), as he was also very friendly and kind. Ashley, I’m truly sorry for your loss. I hope you had a peaceful New Year, and I wish you strength and blessings. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism.
Visited on a work trip. Close to the facility I was visiting. Easy highway access. Clean room, king bed, seems well maintained for being on a highway. I've been here many times before.
We were fortunate to get the last room available on 9/18/25 when our basement flooded and we weren’t able to use any water. We checked in after 9 pm feeling worried and frustrated. The front desk clerk was smiling and friendly, which was very appreciated in the moment. Our room was clean and a cool temperature. The fridge worked. The shower was hot. It was exactly what we needed on a bad day. The next morning I took our children to get breakfast before driving them to school. The waffle batter dispenser wasn’t working and the attendant was so kind to help us and make sure both of our girls got a hot waffle before starting their day. It sounds so simple, but for two kids worried about their home it made all the difference. Thank you to this hotel and their staff for making a rough situation a little better.
DO NOT STAY HERE! The hotel may be semi decent but the front desk staff is extremely rude. The manager allows her employees to talk down to customers and the woman at the front desk has the worst attitude. I wouldn’t bother wasting your money staying here. When reading the reviews for this hotel listen to the numerous complaints about rude staff and take your business elsewhere. Don’t get stuck staying here.
This hotel was so gross that we didn’t even stay for the free breakfast. Had we not arrived very late at night and exhausted from from driving, we would’ve walked out upon arrival. It smelled funky like a mix of mold and stale cigarettes, the lobby furniture was dirty and grimy, room sink had hair in it, bedside lamp had a layer of dust on it, carpet was stained. Just generally unpleasant and a place I avoided touching anything. We literally woke up, immediately got dressed and were out the door in minutes. This is the second Choice hotel we’ve stayed at that we’ve had a most unpleasant experience. Will not be staying at them again.
First room smelled like cigarettes. The worker seemed super agitated with me over asking to change rooms. The second room smelled like someone spilled a bottle of cologne in it. The fridge was not cold and the knob was broken to turn it colder. Location was super convenient. Hot shower. No bugs.
