This property receives mixed feedback, with recent guests praising the friendly employees and recent renovation efforts, despite significant concerns regarding vehicle break-ins and pest issues. Several past guests reported cleanliness issues, including bed bugs and matted hair, while others noted that the breakfast service can be inconsistent.
Overall I wasn't impressed with the stay because of the area and the hotel. The day I checked in had a large amount of police presence in and out of the hotel while I was there in the parking lot watching the parking lot and also the hotel security. So when I finally asked several hours after being checked in what was going on I was told the seven cars were broken too the same day that I was there. So my anxiety and frustration went through the roof and also they had a non-working Whirlpool when I called corporate and I asked for a room that has a working hot tub Whirlpool breakfast at a nice facility and they did not tell me about the car break ins or the Whirlpool and then once you reserve you can't cancel it and then once you check in you can't get a refund. So I felt like I got suckered in to this hotel room in. After I found out that these things were happening at the hotel, I was unable to cancel and get out of the hotel room that I got, And currently it is January 12th and I stayed there over a week ago and these concerns that I'm addressing on Google reviews. I told them and no one has reached out from corporate to follow up to see if anyone reached out from the local location in the OSU area. So that just shows you there where they're customer service is and their priorities is not based on customer but only based on the sales and check in and checkouts. Customer service overall in the hotel hospitality industry is terrible. People don't care about people who comes there to their hotels. We're all just numbers and we check in and check out and they clean the room and bring a new person in. That's what it is. It's an operation now. It used to be a big deal to go to a hotel and have a couple days rest, relax and recharge for all that. You can just do that at home now. Very disappointed in my stay at the Marriott Fairfield. (Update), about a week later a manager from there I believe a customer relations manager named Rashida called me and told me that she sorry about my stay and that she would let me know when the hot tub was fixed and I threw a scenario out to them. I'll come back with a fixed hot tub and pay for a room, And for the customer service issues and overall experience you throw one back at me.So I buy one you give me one. It never was agreed upon, but never was turned down, but I haven't heard back from them. This is March 3rd so I'm going to assume that the whirlpool is still down... And they have my name and number. So if it gets fixed they were to call me and I would go back, because the customer service meaning the people at the desk were pretty good. It's not their fault that the facilities and the environment was terrible. Now outside of that if they had terrible attitudes meaning with customer service people at the desk and people working the the hotel then it would have been a whole terrible experience all together. So I'd like to give credit where credit is due and they refunded me several days later. That's why I asked them when they get the whirlpool fixed, call me and I'll come back. That's an update! 03/03/26
I was charged $140 for an extension that I never requested and was not authorized by me. The charge was made even after I had already checked out, and I almost didn’t notice it. When I called to ask for an explanation, the staff had no record of who made the change and instead asked me what had happened. This was very concerning, as I expected the hotel to have clear documentation of any transaction made on my account. Despite the inconvenience, the time I spent resolving this issue, and the lack of proper explanation, I have not received any compensation or follow-up. I am very disappointed with how this situation was handled. Also, when I asked for fix the TV at my room. I called twice and waited for 2 hours can’t do anything. No one came at all!!! You ruined my night! This is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! Terrible!

Amazing! I walked in and the young man who wore the front desk had great energy was very knowledgeable and polite. After going into my room, I was having trouble connecting my Roku to the TV… He connected me with the maintenance man and he helped me out. I wish every hotel was like this. Amazing service!
The young man at check in was probably the fastest I have ever dealt with. He was very friendly and super efficient! Our room was clean and decent in size. The mattress was very firm (too firm for me, but that's a personal issue). Pillows are the typical down Pillows. Shower got hot quickly, pressure was pretty good, but the most notable thing about the shower is the shower head is quite high. I'm just a little over 5' and couldn't touch the shower head. No constant fan on the wall unit. Breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts I have had. Close proximity to food and shopping. Fridge in every room. Microwave in suites, but not regular rooms. There are 2 Microwaves by the lobby available for guests 24 hours
My family stayed here for a weekend getaway. The staff was great, however we moved rooms 2 times due to sewer odor. It was inconvenient to pack up everything to move down the hall, to find the same odor. And then again further down the hall. At least that room did not smell. The continental breakfast was below average, and the bug crawling around near the sausage definitely made me lose my appetite. They run out of items quickly... yogurt, apple juice... and the coffee was burnt. The pool was small and crowded, with way too much chlorine added. It was hard to breathe in there. The king bed in our suite was uncomfortable and the bathroom was not cleaned to my standards. There were stray hairs stuck to the wall and mold in the shower. There was a srink bug in the bathroom. Housekeeping did not come on our second day to restock anything, so I had to call down to the desk. They did bring up toilet paper and towels, and took our trash away.
Absolutely a 5 star experience. Great proximity to the stadium, bars, etc. The staff was wonderful, breakfast was delicious, the shuttle was perfection. The shuttle driver was friendly, and we waited for not even 5 minutes! The room was also clean, cozy, and quiet! Checkout time being 12pm is also quite convenient. I highly recommended this hotel!
Amazing rooms, amazing staff, amazing managers! I felt at home while staying here for 5 weeks during my radiation treatments. I was always greeted with a smile and often stopped by different staff asking me how I am doing. The rooms were cozy and up to date. You can tell the staff truly loved their jobs. If I need a place to stay in Columbus, I will definitely stay here again!
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I recently stayed there for the Arnold Sports Festival. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds great and the shower had just the right amount of water pressure. The staff were very friendly. Also, they have a handy shuttle that will take you to select locations within 5 miles of the hotel. I would stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.
Hotel rooms were clean and toiletries were stocked. I do wish the breakfast had more options. It was scrambled eggs, sausage, boiled eggs, muffins, waffles, bagels, toast and english muffins. It was close to the convention center, no more than 12 mins away. Staff was nice. They have a shuttle that runs every 30 mins and holds up to 14 people.
